Notes
Mom, is that you? (Just kidding, Mom!)
When I was a kid, I thought that you had kids when you grew up. I never really wanted them. I just thought that having them was always a part of the adult process. Once I figured out that I had a choice in the matter, my opinion changed.
As an adult, I began to get really selfish with my time, especially when I got married. Understand that I like kids…other people’s kids. I love my nieces. Other people’s kids can be sent home at the end of the day. But, kids cannot be kenneled like my dog can.
I’m probably too selfish to have children and I would never want to resent the kid for taking away my time. Because good parents devote time to their kids. I would be a good parent if it ever happened. But I also believe good parents still take time alone with their spouse/significant other (another conversation entirely).
