Random thought on ‘Glee’ Finale

popculturebrain:

Aside from the world’s shortest child birth, the finale was quite believable. If we assume that New Directions and Vocal Adrenaline were real groups, there’s no way Vocal Adrenaline would lose. Their choreography and production value alone was other worldly. Sure we’re supposed to root for McKinley, the scrappy underdogs, but objectively speaking the soulless automatons of Adrenaline were insane.

I’m reading too much into these things, but I enjoyed that bit of realism.

Perhaps, but I guess I was annoyed by Vocal Adrenaline’s overuse of Jesse. He was the only one who sang. I guess the same could be said of New Directions’ Rachel and Finn, but I just felt like they use the rest of their group for more than choreography.

The thing that I didn’t buy was the softening of Sue Sylvester’s heart at the last minute. That didn’t sit well with me. See also: the adoption of Quinn’s baby by Rachel’s mom (I guess it was too late for her to have a relationship with her REAL daughter?) and the absence of Will’s ex-wife in the finale. As much as I disliked Terri, she was a critical part of the show and was glaringly missing.

I did, however, really like how the made it all about the music. They jumped right into the performances. But to me it was a double-edged sword because I felt like there was some emotion missing from the finale.

Maybe I’m over-analyzing it.
