Super Bowl Halftime Perfomers Average Age Since Janet
61.27
In fact, only one of the performers (Prince) was not eligible for AARP.
- 2005: Paul McCartney (67)
- 2006: The Rolling Stones (Avg. age: 65.5)
- 2007: Prince (51)
- 2008: Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers (Avg. age: 58.6!)
- 2009: Bruce Springsteen (60)
- 2010: The Who (Avg. age: 64.5)
(Wait…the whole Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction was six years ago???)
Anyway, I guess the NFL believes that the AARP set is their target demographic for the Super Bowl. They may be right…it’s certainly not me. I’m usually looking for something else to do during these geriatric snooze-fest halftime shows.
(And the first person who says “Well, Prince was under 50 when he performed in 2007!” gets punched.)
