What if SOPA/PIPA was World Hunger or Peace?

It’s pretty amazing how effective the Internet community can be when they believe in a cause. So many members of Congress are now backing off their original support of SOPA/PIPA because people united and spoke their mind against a terrible piece of legislation.

What would happen if people used the same platform to speak out against poverty or war or other intolerance in the world? Would it have the same effect? Could we even find a common ground?
